St. Patrick’s Day is a holiday adopted from Ireland that many Americans celebrate today. St. Patrick’s Day is a cultural and religious celebration held on 17 March, the traditional death date of Saint Patrick, The foremost patron saint of Ireland. We celebrate St. Patrick’s Day because it celebrates the Roman Catholic feast day of the patron saint of Ireland. We wear green on St. Patrick’s Day because it is associated with Catholics in Ireland. Green ribbons have been warn on St. Patrick’s Day since the 1680s.
