Reflection: This doesn’t seem like the right career for me. I wouldn’t really want to work with people in a physical way.

Aircraft Maintenance Engineer

maintenance engineer is to make sure the aircraft is operating properly and safely. Daily duties consist on keeping records of and performing scheduled maintenance, making emergency repairs, and preparing for FAA/ Federal Aviation, Administration inspections.

Education: To be a aircraft maintenance engineer you must meet specific training and certification requirements.

Demands for this Profession:  Some things that this career ask for is to work long hours to make emergency repairs.

Game Developer

Reflection: I would be really interested in a career as a game developer. The reason I would want this career is because gaming is a passion of mine and it would be the best career for me to make really enjoyable games for everyone to enjoy as well.  The career as a game developer also pays pretty good for what it is.

Physical Therapist

Duties and responsibilities: They help people recover from illnesses, injuries, and surgery. They help people regain movement of a body part or manage pain.

Salary: $75,000-$89,000

Education: They require a doctoral or professional degree.

Demands for this Profession: There is a large demand for physical therapist and is estimated to grow by 36% by 2024. A DPT is required which can take 3 years to earn. A bachelor's degree is needed to enter a DPT program. As well as specific education which could be classes in anatomy, physiology, biology, chemistry, and physics.  

  

Reflection: Being a physical therapist seems pretty interesting and simple. I’d prefer to have a career as a physical therapist over different careers in the medical field because it pays well and I wouldn't have to work with people in life or death situations.

Pathologist

Duties and Responsibilities: Pathologist examine and diagnose body fluids, such as blood and urine, or tissues from biopsies and pap smears to diagnose diseases. They also perform autopsies to determine a cause of death.

Salary: $220,000-$307,000

Education: 4 years of college to get a bachelor's degree. 4 years of medical school to get get the doctor of medicine. As well as 4 or 5 years of residency to become eligible to take the Board exam in pathology.

Demands or needs for this Profession: You first must earn a bachelor's, then a medical degree, either an M.D. or D.O. Extensive additional education and training is required, including 4 or 5 years of training in anatomic, clinical and /or forensic pathology and 1-year residency or fellowship in forensic pathology.

Orthopedic Surgeon

Education: A 4-year bachelor's degree program in biology is needed. As well as additional 4 years of medical school. Followed by a 4-  to 5-year orthopedic surgeon residency in a hospital.

Reflection: This is not a career I would want. This is because I wouldn’t want to work with people's teeth. The pay seems pretty good but this is not a job I would like.

Optometry Technician

Duties and Responsibilities: Some of their duties include diagnostic tests, recording and measuring vision, testing eye function, preparing examining room, answering phones, making appointments, and cleaning and arranging equipment.

Education: A high school diploma is needed as well as an optometric technician training program for 2 years.

Optometrist

Duties and Responsibilities: A optometrist performs vision test and analyze the results. They as well diagnose sight problems. One other thing that the optometrist does is prescribe glasses, contact lenses, and medication.

Reflection: This career looks like one I would like to look into. The reason behind this is because, this career seems pretty interesting and simple to do. The amount of pay is as well great considering what the job ask of you to do.

Nursing Home Administrator

Duties and Responsibilities: This is a specialized area in the medical and health services. Their duties consist of overseeing staff and personnel, financial matters, medical care, medical supplies, facilities, and other responsibilities.

Salary: $95,000-$119,000

Education: The minimum requirement to be a nursing home administrator is  a bachelor's degree in health care administration.

Reflection: I don't think I would like to have my career be a nursing home administrator, this is because I wouldn’t want to work with the elderly. Not only that but, this career seems like it would be a boring one.

Neurosurgeon

Duties and Responsibilities: Neurosurgeons perform surgery on the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nerves to remove tumors, relieve chronic pain, and treat wounds.

Salary: $395,000-$589,500

Education: 4 years of undergraduate school, after that they must have 4 years of medical school, then they must take 6-7 years of neurosurgical residency training.

Reflection: This career is pretty demanding and seems like a career only the really dedicated would take on. I don’t personally would like to have this career because, it requires many years of training and it calls for the best and most careful work. If you make one little accident, it can cause the life of your patient. Even though, the pay is extraordinarily great, it is still not a career I would like to pursuit.

The Naturopathic Doctor

Duties and Responsibilities: Thiy are a type of health care provider who treats patients using a system of medicine that is based on healing powers of nature.

Salary: $67,000-$72,000

Education: A four-year, graduate-level naturopathic medical school.

Reflection: This career seems pretty great and, does seem like something i would like to endorse in the future. One of the reasons is because the pay seems pretty good. Another reason is because I will become a licensed doctor and I will be able to practice medicine.

Military Medical

Duties and Responsibilities: The health care specialist is mainly responsible for providing emergency  medical treatment. Medics are necessary to assist wounded soldiers during combat .

Salary: $18,000

Education: They are required to have a bachelor's degree in the medical field.

Reflection: I would not like a career as a military medic. The reason is because I don’t think the pay of this career is worth the risks that are here. A medic for athletes is way safer and has a better pay as well.

Mental Health Counselor

Duties and Responsibilities: Their duties consist of working with individuals, groups, and communities to try to help improve mental health.  They help their clients discuss emotions and experiences. They talk about issues doing with bullying, substance abuse, anger management, depression, relationships, stress, etc.

Salary: $43,000 annually

Education: In most states to be a mental health counselor a Master's degree is required.

Reflection: I would not like to have this job because, I would not like to listen to people's problems all day long.

Trimming job

Duties and Responsibilities: A trimmers duties are primarily responsible for the efficiency and quality of the plant trimming of in preparation to sale.  

Salary: They usually make $12-$15 an hour but can be promoted to make $90,000 a year.

Education: They are not really looking for an education level, but more for experience.

Demands for this profession:

• Experience at a marijuana trimming job
• Knowledge of marijuana plant anatomy and strains
• Ability to focus on a task for a long period of time
• Accuracy and consistency in trimming
• Trustworthiness
• Ability to accurately weigh and measure

  

Medical Scientist

Duties and Responsibilities: Their duties are to new methods of enhancing human health. They perform research on bacteria and viruses.

Salary:$82,000

Education: They either need a Doctoral or professional degree.
