Duties and Responsibilities: Pathologist examine and diagnose body fluids, such as blood and urine, or tissues from biopsies and pap smears to diagnose diseases. They also perform autopsies to determine a cause of death.
Salary: $220,000-$307,000
Education: 4 years of college to get a bachelor's degree. 4 years of medical school to get get the doctor of medicine. As well as 4 or 5 years of residency to become eligible to take the Board exam in pathology.
Demands or needs for this Profession: You first must earn a bachelor's, then a medical degree, either an M.D. or D.O. Extensive additional education and training is required, including 4 or 5 years of training in anatomic, clinical and /or forensic pathology and 1-year residency or fellowship in forensic pathology.
